Skoda Kodiaq is a mid-sized SUV that first went on sale in 2016. It offers a combination of practicality, comfort and modern design. The Kodiaq is known for its generous interior and the ability to carry up to seven passengers. The latest generation of the Kodiaq, introduced in 2023, offers improved technologies, an updated infotainment system and a range of efficient petrol and diesel engines.

Variants within the same range

The Skoda Kodiaq is primarily offered as an SUV. There are no saloon or convertible variants of the Kodiaq that could be confused with this model. The Kodiaq, however, is available in several trim levels, including the base trim, the Sportline and the luxurious L&K version (Laurin & Klement), which differ in equipment and design.

Since its launch in 2016, the Kodiaq has undergone several model changes. The most significant changes occurred in 2021 and 2023, with the 2021 facelift primarily including cosmetic adjustments and technological upgrades. However, these changes did not have a significant impact on boot space, which has essentially remained constant.

Direct competitors

Direct competitors of the Skoda Kodiaq include models such as the Hyundai Santa Fe, the Ford Kuga and the Nissan X-Trail. The Hyundai Santa Fe offers a boot capacity of around 625 litres, which is smaller than that of the Kodiaq. The Ford Kuga has a capacity of around 575 litres, while the Nissan X-Trail at 565 litres also lags behind the Kodiaq. These differences make the Kodiaq an attractive option for buyers who value plenty of storage space.

More affordable alternatives

More affordable alternatives to the Skoda Kodiaq with similar boot dimensions include, for example, the Dacia Duster and the Seat Ateca. The Dacia Duster offers a boot capacity of around 478 litres, which is significantly less than the Kodiaq’s, but available at a lower price. The Seat Ateca has a boot capacity of around 510 litres, which also lags behind the Kodiaq, but sits in a similar price range. These models offer a more affordable option, but with compromises in cargo space.
