Model information

The VW Eos is a compact convertible that was first launched in 2006 and was produced until 2015. It combines the characteristics of an open-top vehicle with the benefits of a coupé. The Eos is characterised by a retractable hardtop that can be opened or closed in a matter of seconds. The construction provides both a sporty driving experience and a degree of comfort for the passengers. The equipment ranges from basic models to sportier variants with more powerful engines and more extensive technology.

Variants in the same range

The VW Eos is designed as a convertible and does not have direct variants such as a saloon or estate within the same model range. There are, however, other VW models that share similar features, such as the VW Golf or the VW Passat, which are available in different body styles. These models should not be confused with the Eos, as they target different audiences and uses.

Boot capacity

The boot capacity of the VW Eos is around 380 litres when the roof is closed. This is relatively generous for a convertible of this size. With the roof open, boot capacity reduces to around 205 litres, which is still sufficient for luggage or shopping, but offers less space than in the closed state. The boot opening is also well sized, making loading easier. The rear seats are fold-down, providing additional loading possibilities, particularly for longer items.

Model year differences

Over the years of production there were a few model changes that affected the body dimensions and thus the boot size. The basic dimensions remained largely constant. In the same price bracket and size there are several comparable models, such as the Audi A3 Cabriolet and the BMW 2 Series Convertible. The Audi A3 Cabriolet offers a boot capacity of around 340 litres, which is somewhat less than that of the Eos. The BMW 2 Series Convertible has a boot capacity of around 280 litres, which makes it even more compact than the Eos in comparison. These differences in boot space can be decisive for buyers who value storage.

More affordable alternatives

There are also more affordable alternatives with similar boot dimensions, such as the Ford Focus Convertible or the Peugeot 308 CC. The Ford Focus Convertible offers a boot capacity of around 500 litres, making it an attractive option. The Peugeot 308 CC has a boot capacity of around 348 litres. These models are often cheaper to buy, but offer similar cargo capacity to the VW Eos.
