Model information

The latest generation of the BMW 7 Series, known as the G70, is a luxury saloon car, prized for its advanced technology, comfort and performance. The G70 generation was introduced in 2022 and offers a range of powertrain options, including petrol, diesel and hybrid variants. The saloon is renowned for its elegant design, which combines sporty and luxurious elements. Inside, the 7 Series offers a high-quality interior with state-of-the-art infotainment systems and ample space for passengers.

Variants within the same range

The BMW 7 Series range mainly comprises saloons. However, there are also variants such as the BMW 7 Series Plug-in Hybrid, which offers a combination of internal combustion and electric motor. These variants differ in their propulsion technology, while the saloon’s body style remains true. There are no convertibles or estate cars of the 7 Series, which narrows the choice and minimises confusion.

Model year differences

The previous generation of the BMW 7 Series, the G11, was produced from 2015 to 2022. During this period there were minor updates, which did not bring significant changes to the body dimensions or boot space. The G70 generation, however, brings improved aerodynamics and optimised interior layout, which makes the boot space more efficient. Future model years could bring further adjustments that affect the dimensions.

Direct competition

In the luxury saloon class, the BMW 7 Series competes with, among others, the Audi A8 and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The Audi A8 offers a boot capacity of around 505 litres, while the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is comparable at around 500 litres. The differences in boot capacity are minimal, with the A8 offering slightly more space. All models, however, are capable of meeting the needs of travellers and business users.

More affordable alternatives

More affordable models that offer similar boot space include, for example, the Skoda Superb and the Volkswagen Passat. The Skoda Superb has a boot space of around 625 litres, which makes it an attractive option for buyers who require a lot of storage. The Volkswagen Passat also offers a good boot space of around 586 litres. Both models are considerably cheaper to buy, but do not offer the same level of luxury and technology as the BMW 7 Series.
